Bespoke dentures, made with you in mind

Restore your smile, confidence and ability to eat comfortably with individually designed dentures from our Clinical Dental Technician, James Kitchingman.

Meet James Kitchingman, Clinical Dental Technician

When you choose James for your dentures, you benefit from both his clinical experience and his technical expertise.

James is a qualified Clinical Dental Technician, which means he can see you directly in the practice, assess your needs, discuss your options and take the necessary impressions. He then uses his experience as a dental technician to design and create your dentures.

You don’t have to explain what you want to one person and then hope that information reaches someone else in a laboratory. James is involved throughout your denture journey.

This personal approach allows James to pay close attention to the details that matter to you, from the appearance and shape of your new teeth to the fit, comfort and way they function.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Dentures

Private dentures at Boroughbridge Dental Centre start from £650. The exact cost will depend on the type of denture you need and the complexity of your case.

James will discuss your options with you during your consultation and provide a personalised treatment plan and quotation before you decide to proceed.

A full price list can be found here.

The time involved varies depending on the type of denture and your individual circumstances.

Most dentures require several appointments so James can take accurate impressions and measurements, check the fit and appearance, and make any necessary adjustments before your final denture is completed. James will explain the expected timescale at your consultation.

Yes. If you have some natural teeth remaining, a partial denture may be an option. Partial dentures can replace one or more missing teeth while working alongside your remaining natural teeth. James will assess your individual situation and discuss whether a partial denture is suitable for you.

A full denture replaces all of the teeth in the upper or lower arch. A partial denture replaces one or more missing teeth while retaining your remaining natural teeth.

The right option will depend on how many teeth you have, the health of your remaining teeth and your individual needs.

Yes. James can assess your existing dentures and discuss whether a new set, adjustment or another option would be most suitable.

If your current dentures feel loose, uncomfortable, worn or no longer give you the appearance you want, a new set may help restore their fit and function.

James will design your dentures with your individual smile and facial features in mind. He can discuss the shape, size and shade of the teeth with you so that your new dentures look natural and complement your appearance.

Your dentures should not simply replace missing teeth, they should also feel like a natural part of your smile.

It can take a little time to get used to new dentures. You may notice some changes to your speech or find certain foods more difficult at first. This usually improves as you become more comfortable wearing your dentures and learn how to use them.

James will give you advice on getting used to your new dentures, including eating and speaking, and can make adjustments if necessary.

With good care, dentures can last for several years. However, your mouth naturally changes over time and your gums and jawbone can change shape. This can affect the fit of your dentures, even if the dentures themselves are still in good condition.

Regular dental check-ups are still important when you wear dentures, and James can advise you if your dentures need adjusting, relining or replacing.

In many cases, James can discuss ways to improve the fit and stability of your dentures. The best option will depend on your mouth, the type of denture you have and the amount of support available.

For some patients, implant-retained dentures may also be an option. James can discuss the available options with you and, where appropriate, work alongside your dentist and the wider dental team.

This depends on your individual circumstances. As a Clinical Dental Technician, James can provide dentures directly in suitable cases. However, if you have remaining natural teeth, dental problems or other concerns with your oral health, you may need an assessment from a dentist first.

James will let you know if you need to see a dentist as part of your treatment. It is also important to continue attending regular dental check-ups alongside your denture appointments so that your overall oral health and any remaining teeth can be monitored.
